My Mom Verdict
I love the Shatter Me books and they are one of my 15 year old daughters favorite series. I do think they are best for 15 and up.
As far as spice goes there is nothing to crazy but there are a few scenes of them making out and it does talk about them laying in her bed and not wanting clothes on. So they get a little heated but nothing without clothes.
There is quite a bit of emotionally intense topics. She is isolated from her parents and put in a mental hospital in isolation. She killed a child just by touching him when you was trying to help him. Adam was abused by his dad as a child and it talks about him being punched and kicked as a kid. She is forced to take part in a test with a little toddler where she can pick him up and he could tie from her touching him or she can watch as he falls on spikes.
With language their is some but its mostly just hell or damn and its not that often.
If they’re younger or prefer lighter, less intense reads, you may want to wait a bit.
